Dr. Javan S. Bass, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Javan S. Bass is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in complex foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and advanced surgical management of lower-extremity conditions.

Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Bass graduated with honors from Jefferson Davis High School before attending the University of Alabama, where he pursued a dual academic concentration in Pre-Medicine and Finance and received the Outstanding Economics Achievement Award. He subsequently earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. As a recipient of both the Temple Merit Scholarship and Presidential Scholarship, Dr. Bass distinguished himself academically and was inducted into the Stirling-Harford-DiPrimio Honorary Anatomical Society and Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society.

Dr. Bass completed his postgraduate medical and surgical training at DeKalb Medical Center, now part of Emory Healthcare, in Atlanta, Georgia. His residency provided extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and diabetic limb salvage. Following residency, he completed an additional year of advanced trauma surgical training at Aria Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with an emphasis on the reconstruction and management of complex foot, ankle, and lower-extremity fractures.

Education, Research & Industry Leadership

In addition to his clinical and surgical practice, Dr. Bass is actively involved in medical education and the advancement of foot and ankle surgery. He is a published author in the Podiatry Institute's annual Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Update, a respected educational series highlighting contemporary advances in podiatric medicine and surgery.

Dr. Bass has lectured on numerous topics, including antibiotic management of skin and soft-tissue infections, identification and treatment of skin and soft-tissue malignancies, complex lower-extremity reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage, trauma, and advanced surgical techniques.

Recognized for his clinical and surgical expertise, Dr. Bass serves as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and consultant to multiple medical and healthcare companies, providing clinical insight on emerging technologies, products, surgical techniques, and strategies designed to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Bass also serves as an expert witness in medical-legal and trial matters, providing independent case review, expert analysis, and testimony involving foot and ankle conditions, surgical care, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and standards of care within podiatric medicine and surgery.

Professional Leadership & Advocacy

Dr. Bass is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS) and is board certified in both reconstructive foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.

He has maintained an extensive commitment to organized medicine and professional advocacy at both the state and national levels. Dr. Bass has served as President of the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association (GPMA) and continues his service on the GPMA Board. During his tenure, he has served on numerous committees dedicated to advancing the profession and strengthening the organization, including the Scientific Committee, where he previously served as Chairman, and the Budget Committee.

At the national level, Dr. Bass serves as a Georgia Delegate to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) House of Delegates. He also serves on the APMA Political Action Committee (APMAPAC) Board of Directors and as the APMAPAC Coordinator for the State of Georgia, advocating for issues affecting patients, physicians, and the future of podiatric medicine.

Dr. Tamanna Hoque, DPM

Dr. Tamanna Hoque is a foot and ankle physician and surgeon specializing in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions in patients of all ages. She is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care using current evidence-based medicine to relieve pain, restore function, and help patients return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Hoque provides both nonsurgical and surgical management of a wide range of conditions, including heel pain and plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot deformities, arthritis, sports-related injuries, fractures, diabetic foot complications, neuropathy, wounds, ingrown toenails, and other disorders affecting the foot and ankle.

Advanced Surgical Training

Dr. Hoque completed a comprehensive three-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year.

Her residency provided extensive training across the full spectrum of foot and ankle medicine and surgery, with particular emphasis on advanced foot and ankle reconstruction, sports medicine, trauma, diabetic limb preservation, wound care, and minimally invasive and elective foot and ankle surgery.

This broad training allows Dr. Hoque to approach each patient with an understanding of both conservative and surgical treatment options and to develop a treatment strategy based on the patient's condition, lifestyle, and individual goals.

Research & Academic Achievement

Dr. Hoque has a strong interest in clinical research and the continued advancement of podiatric medicine and surgery. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized for both her research and leadership.

Her academic accomplishments include earning First Place at the 2025 Western Foot and Ankle Conference Scientific Poster Competition, recognizing the quality and clinical relevance of her research.

During her chief residency, Dr. Hoque was also honored with the Judi Manzi Leadership Award, reflecting her commitment to leadership, professionalism, and excellence in patient care.

She remains dedicated to continuing medical education and staying current with evolving research, technology, and surgical techniques in foot and ankle medicine.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Hoque believes that successful treatment begins with listening to her patients, understanding their concerns, and ensuring they have a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment options.

She emphasizes patient education and shared decision-making when developing individualized treatment plans. Whenever appropriate, Dr. Hoque begins with conservative and nonsurgical therapies, while offering advanced surgical solutions when surgery represents the most appropriate path toward restoring function and improving quality of life.

Her goal is not simply to treat a foot or ankle condition, but to understand how that condition affects each patient's daily life and develop a treatment plan designed to help them return to the activities that matter most.

Beyond Medicine

Outside of patient care, Dr. Hoque enjoys spending time with her family, maintaining an active lifestyle, traveling, and continuing to explore the latest advances in foot and ankle medicine and surgery.
